Welcome to the business studies department where we believe in education for sustainable development.
The department is committed to implementing the polytechnic strategic plan in an effort to achieving the vision and mission of the entire polytechnic. It offers a variety of market-driven business programs, most of which are examined by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) due to the market demand. Our graduates are absorbed in the very dynamic job market and we empower them with entrepreneurial and ICT skills to be able to create rather than search for the jobs.
We nature youth talent in media, graphic design and film editing/photography in a brave endevour to promote knowledge economy, which can very fast improve the national GDP. In this very vibrant industry, with the able support of our stakeholders, we have much more coming up, watch this space.
We have huge alumni working Nationally and internationally, some immediately after graduation and others after furthering their studies to degree level in Public Universities.
Kenya Coast National Polytechnic is accredited by Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB) and the department has continually worked very hard to retain this rare accreditation through maintaining quality teaching and learning.
With the support of the Chief Principal, the Polytechnic council and the GK-Mvita CDF, the department has worked very hard to establish a training community radio station. We promote strong cohesion with the community and wish to give a voice to the voiceless and contribute towards the polytechnic Corporate Social Responsibility. Mvita FM 106.2 Kenya Coast Poly radio station “Mwamko Mpya Pwani” is the station to tune in. This radio station is an additional training laboratory for our journalism students and the proceeds go to bursaries for needy students.
